Sometimes the tide of work seems so large that you just need to get work out as quickly as possible. But one thing you should always keep in mind when creating something is to take a step back, a very large deep breath and look at your work with an open mind. You have to learn to be brutally honest with yourself or you will end up getting some very harsh criticism that you will find hard to take.
Remember there are design basics and there is also peoples opinion. Filter through what is subjective and what is constructive to be able to rework, if necessary, represent in a different way or redo. Time is both your enemy and your friend so make sure you use it to your advantage. no matter how busy you are take a break and walk away from your work and when you come back you will be able to look at your work honestly and objectively.
